Back by popular demand, we’ll be doing another Let’s Find Out historical walking tour this June, in collaboration with the Ritchie Community League. Did you miss last year’s event? Check it out by listening here.
Do you have burning questions about Ritchie’s history? I want to help you find out the answers with a walking tour of the neighbourhood. Once again we’ll be recording and sharing highlights from the tour on an episode of Let’s Find Out. Email questions to firstname.lastname@example.org by Sunday, May 20. Maybe you’ve wondered what’s up with the trees that got cut down on Whyte Ave, who was here 150 years ago, or whether it’s true that trains ran through Mill Creek Ravine, or whether this area was ever underneath a glacier. Send in anything you’re curious about!
The A. Minchau Blacksmith shop is in Ritchie, by the way (the one that’s been in the news a bunch because the owners have applied for a demolition permit). *Hint hint* there are some rich, answerable questions we could explore around that building!
